Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Peng Xiong in the 17th minute. Agustín Saelices kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peng Xiong in the 19th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 21 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Freddy Mercurio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 27th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 33rd minute of play forced Crottos Crotters F.C.'s goalkeeper Freddy Mercurio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 36 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adilson Breckenfeld. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. When Ecuador's Cristian Sancho in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Freddy Mercurio came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Antonio Arias got a free kick in the 83rd minute. In the 88th minute, Baldomero Mateo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Through an outstanding action, after 89 minutes, Freddy Mercurio successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Antonio Arias charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Antonio Arias the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 92nd minute, Antonio Arias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peng Xiong in the 93rd minute of play. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
