Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 4th minute. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Diego Mian read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Cristoforo De Tommasi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Cristoforo De Tommasi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Herberia Herons's Diego Mian played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 20th minute of play. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Herberia Herons's Aurelio Corvo. But to his dismay, Aurelio Corvo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Felix Montenegro hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Agustín Saelices fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diego Mian having to interfere. If Eugenio Ruggieri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Giuseppe Basso tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Herberia Herons booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Montes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Armando Marchesani in the 39th minute. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eugenio Ruggieri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 46 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 47th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Zorita to maneuver through the defense.

Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 60th minute, Armando Marchesani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 67th minute, Giuseppe Basso ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Herberia Herons's Alfredo Ranieri was substituted for Ercole Bizzarri. Cristian Sancho kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Herberia Herons's Anthony Guidone was substituted for Eugenio Ruggieri. After 73 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Sancho. In the 75th minute Alfredo Ranieri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aurelio Corvo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Herberia Herons support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
