Fala Sério FC's Afonsinho Marques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 8th minute of play. Kauan Santos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. 12 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Kauan Santos was slow to take the kick. During this time Fala Sério FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Fala Sério FC's Kauan Santos to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Afonsinho Marques breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Afonsinho Marques having to make a save. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Fala Sério FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jairo Souto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Afonsinho Marques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Fala Sério FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to Ecuador's Luis Andino getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Afonsinho Marques came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Afonsinho Marques showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. André Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Afonsinho Marques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 59th minute Pedro Moraes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Fala Sério FC defense, Cristian Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Afonsinho Marques. The Fala Sério FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Afonsinho Marques should have stopped the shot. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kauan Santos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fala Sério FC's Régis de Amorim got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Afonsinho Marques firmly grabbed it by the left post. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonsinho Marques having to interfere. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jairo Souto during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Fala Sério FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 85th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 88 minutes, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Afonsinho Marques. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raimundo Pernambucano, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. The supporters of Fala Sério FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Zorita didn't get a good kick on the ball. Afonsinho Marques was a little too slow when Felix Montenegro got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 96th minute. The score was now 0-5. The Fala Sério FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
