Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) FC U Cluj-N's 曾钢宁 started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Orlando Casaus in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mircea Calboreanu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 7th minute of the match Chile got a corner. FC U Cluj-N's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mariano Lacasa ran over to the corner to take the kick. Mircea Calboreanu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mariano Lacasa went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Thiago Pliego made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ivan Florescu in the 21st minute. When Mariano Lacasa fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chile's protests and gave Mariano Lacasa a yellow card for diving instead. With his leg Thiago Pliego managed to avoid a goal in the 23rdth minute, when FC U Cluj-N's 曾钢宁 fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 26th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mircea Calboreanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Chile's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mariano Lacasa in the 27th minute. Francisco Carballar made a great header on Chile's corner, it was just that FC U Cluj-N's Mircea Calboreanu managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 29thth minute of the game Mariano Lacasa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC U Cluj-N's Mircea Calboreanu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cazimir Cosor. The supporters of FC U Cluj-N booed when Chile was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Tamayo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mariano Lacasa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 曾钢宁 in the 55th minute of play. Francisco Carballar kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. 66 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC U Cluj-N's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mariano Lacasa was slow to take the kick. During this time Chile's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Chile's corner Mariano Lacasa fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Mircea Calboreanu quite easily take care of the ball. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivan Florescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. With a little luck, FC U Cluj-N's Mircea Calboreanu got control of the ball when Mariano Lacasa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from A.J. Teleagă in the 72nd minute of play. The supporters of Chile booed when FC U Cluj-N was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filip Trifan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 77 played minutes FC U Cluj-N got a freekick which was hit by Filip Trifan. In the 82nd minute, Pedro Indiano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mariano Lacasa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. But to his dismay, Mariano Lacasa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. FC U Cluj-N were awarded a corner in the 97th minute after Chile's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cezar Coja took the corner. After taking down the ball on FC U Cluj-N's corner Cezar Coja fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Thiago Pliego quite easily take care of the ball. Chile's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
