Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) A.S. Minerul Anina's Mattias Brandt started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 3 minutes, Mattias Brandt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. A.S. Minerul Anina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mattias Brandt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ludwig Jetzek read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. Ludwig Jetzek took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in A.S. Minerul Anina's zone, Felix Montenegro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ludwig Jetzek came out of the goal and Felix Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A.S. Minerul Anina's Ludwig Jetzek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 19th minute of play. Agustín Saelices might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ludwig Jetzek. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Agustín Saelices ran back to his position shaking his head. 25 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Napoleon Justice was slow to take the kick. During this time A.S. Minerul Anina's players had a chance to rest. 29 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ludwig Jetzek made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 32 minutes into the match, Forrest Sousa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Forrest Sousa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Ludwig Jetzek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 37th minute of the match. Perry Priest kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. After 45 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Napoleon Justice who took care of the corner kick. Primitivo Andino tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Julio Vera. An unnecessary self made goal, 2-2 in the 45th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ludwig Jetzek. Ludwig Jetzek dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. 62 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Forrest Sousa came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Reinaldo Burkett hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Daniel Zorita was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 65th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ludwig Jetzek in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 74th minute of play forced A.S. Minerul Anina's goalkeeper Ludwig Jetzek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 87th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 89 minutes into the match, A.S. Minerul Anina's goalkeeper Ludwig Jetzek had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felix Montenegro. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than A.S. Minerul Anina.
