Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Martyn Featherstone started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Cristian Sancho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 2nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lucas Young having to make a save. 2 minutes into the match, The Youth Project's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Lucas Young reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Martyn Featherstone's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Julio Vera firmly grabbed it by the left post. Lucas Young made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 7th minute of play. A collision led to The Youth Project getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Harry Colman hit a great ball. The Youth Project's Lucas Young played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Saelices in the 12th minute of play. Martyn Featherstone's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 16thth minute, Julio Vera skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Lucas Young showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 18th minute of the match. In the 19th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucas Young saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lucas Young read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. Paddy Ackland could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. After some careless play in the The Youth Project defense, Luis Andino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lucas Young. The The Youth Project fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lucas Young should have stopped the shot. Lucas Young showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 36th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Lucas Young didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. After 47 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Agustín Saelices. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Alfie Chivers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Alfie Chivers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martyn Featherstone, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Martyn Featherstone fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Martyn Featherstone blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. Alfie Chivers recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Lucas Young didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Juan Sebastián Puig kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Martyn Featherstone's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. The corner ended in Rowan Jepson almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Agustín Saelices hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Martyn Featherstone managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Youth Project's supporters rose to their feet, but Martyn Featherstone was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 81 minutes into the match, The Youth Project's goalkeeper Lucas Young had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. 82 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Lucas Young. Daniel Zorita showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martyn Featherstone in the 88th minute of play. 89 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alfie Chivers was slow to take the kick. During this time The Youth Project's players had a chance to rest. The Youth Project's Alfie Chivers was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in.
