In the 9th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Club 23 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonard Chodzinski didn't get a good kick on the ball. 19 minutes had been played when some careless play by Club 23's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tomas Illescas was slow to take the kick. During this time Venezuela's players had a chance to rest. The corner led to Venezuela's Joshua Secada getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. 21 minutes into the game, Liu Chao Xiao cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Liu Chao Xiao in the 23rd minute of play. Sören Malmberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Costa in the 28th minute of the match. 33 minutes into the match, Club 23's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Sören Malmberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Venezuela's defense didn't have a chance, in the 35th minute, when Liu Chao Xiao scored to the left of an out of position Jonathan Ferrant, making the score, 2-0. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sören Malmberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant was a little too slow when Liu Chao Xiao got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 48th minute. The score was now 3-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Bogdan Bogdanović made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Club 23 getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Leonard Chodzinski hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Camilo Gaos got a free kick in the 60th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Liu Chao Xiao in the 61st minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner led Club 23's Dacian Săraru to fire away a dangerous shot which Jonathan Ferrant despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Liu Chao Xiao in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sören Malmberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 78th minute, Bogdan Bogdanović hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Club 23's Sören Malmberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Costa in the 79th minute of play. In the 82nd minute Liu Chao Xiao shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Liu Chao Xiao in the 82nd minute of play. Liu Chao Xiao took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Liu Chao Xiao sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 88 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Liu Chao Xiao came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alex Chicote's late challenge caught a Club 23's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alex Chicote helped the player get up and apologised. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Club 23 were victorious despite being under pressure from Venezuela for much of the match.
