Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Liu Chao Xiao, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Sören Malmberg was out of position in the 17 minute of play, and Cristian Sancho capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cristian Sancho really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sören Malmberg having to interfere. Sören Malmberg was a little too slow when Daniel Zorita got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 23rd minute. The score was now 2-0. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Liu Chao Xiao's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. After 32 minutes, Nae Lalescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club 23 and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. Bogdan Bogdanović fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. If Liu Chao Xiao had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 39th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sören Malmberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Club 23's Sören Malmberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 43rd minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bogdan Bogdanović was the one to do the kick off. Druțu Daniel charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Druțu Daniel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Druțu Daniel kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. In the 56th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sören Malmberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dacian Săraru made a great header on Club 23's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. Sören Malmberg was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Volodya Kirov during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 77th minute, Volodya Kirov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sören Malmberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Liu Chao Xiao who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 84thth minute tested the skills of Julio Vera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 92 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sören Malmberg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-2. Ecuador's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
