Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Chirea, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. In the 46th minute, Eliseo Noboa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Damian Tirulescu hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Axel Tasis made the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Axel Tasis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Narcis Popoiu was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. Eliseo Noboa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Costa Rica's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Axel Tasis in the 63rd minute. Axel Tasis made a great header on Costa Rica's corner, it was just that Club Vertigo's Narcis Popoiu managed to reach the ball for a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nistor Iftimescu during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 65th minute of the game. One of Club Vertigo:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Costa Rica:s goal. The supporters of Club Vertigo booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aaron Alcocer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Club Vertigo's Damian Tirulescu quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Abel Carballo, made in the 72nd minute of the game. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! 86 minutes into the game, Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Narcis Popoiu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. In the 90th minute, Eliseo Noboa made a precise shot to the right of Narcis Popoiu. Club Vertigo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Noboa in the 94th minute of play forced Club Vertigo's goalkeeper Narcis Popoiu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alan Moruga got a free kick in the 97th minute. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Costa Rica were victorious despite being under pressure from Club Vertigo for much of the match.
