A collision led to FC Soldeu getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Kurt Milton hit a great ball. Alf Ploughman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. In the 17th minute Darren Blewitt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of FC Soldeu booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivan Navarro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 19th minute Gary Delaney shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20th minute, Kurt Milton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lautaro Navarro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Darren Blewitt in the 23rd minute of play. Honduras's Luca Espinar managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Benjamin Blakeley in the 24 minute of the game. Alf Ploughman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. A hard shot 27 in the game by Damien Fowler from a close distance when the talented Lautaro Navarro managed to make a qualified save. Honduras's players were relieved. Darren Blewitt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lautaro Navarro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. 34 minutes into the match, Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Damien Fowler. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Edmundo Espiga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Honduras's supporters rose to their feet, but Edmundo Espiga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alf Ploughman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A sloppy throw-in by Benjamin Blakeley in the 55th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Honduras's Edmundo Espiga. Alf Ploughman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 56th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 59 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Darren Blewitt sped through Honduras's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lautaro Navarro. 62 minutes into the game, Darren Blewitt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Soldeu's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Honduras the free kick. A collision led to FC Soldeu getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Damien Fowler in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lautaro Navarro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 74th minute, Honduras's Edmundo Espiga ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Alf Ploughman. Alf Ploughman yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. During the 76th minute of the match Sebastian Villa completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Sebastian Villa a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of FC Soldeu booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sebastian Villa didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 81st minute of the game Tod Simpson made a throw-in which Ian Lomas played forward. After 83 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Edmundo Espiga. FC Soldeu's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
