In the 2nd match minute, MIHAEL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nikola Stanachkov to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Camilo Gaos hit a great ball. 8 minutes into the game, MIHAEL's Deyan Adamski nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Igor Vapordzhiev read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 11th minute of play. In the 13th minute of the match Venezuela got a corner. MIHAEL's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tomas Illescas ran over to the corner to take the kick. Venezuela's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tomas Illescas in the 19th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Illescas in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Igor Vapordzhiev prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Igor Vapordzhiev tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Igor Vapordzhiev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. 47 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Igor Vapordzhiev. MIHAEL's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomas Illescas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Genadi Gotzev was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute, Tomas Illescas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 60th minute Patricio Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Igor Vapordzhiev saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Svetlin Vakanov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Svetlin Vakanov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Venezuela booed when MIHAEL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nikola Stanachkov didn't get a good kick on the ball. 71 minutes into the match, Svetlin Vakanov notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tomas Illescas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 77thth minute, Igor Vapordzhiev skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 82nd match minute, MIHAEL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roberto Trevisan to maneuver through the defense. In the 85th minute, Alex Chicote hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 86 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Sofoklis Bletsios came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in MIHAEL's zone, Patricio Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Igor Vapordzhiev came out of the goal and Patricio Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
