Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ambrosio Lonzo in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Ambrosio Lonzo sent off a good shot on target. Ambrosio Lonzos short, quick shot in the 24thth minute got Julio Vera to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Muc Abeita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Manos Manteca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Discípulos de Ayn Rand's Manos Manteca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 43rd minute of play. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Antonio Arias hit a great ball. In the 47th minute, Muc Abeita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Discípulos de Ayn Rand's Manos Manteca proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Discípulos de Ayn Rand from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Manos Manteca in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Octavio Geleberto, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 93 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Denis Abello came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Discípulos de Ayn Rand support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
