An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 7th minute of play forced FCUniversitatea Cluj 1919's goalkeeper Arden Ryder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 7th minute, Tomas Berganza left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Panama fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 谢皓亮, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 13 minutes into the match, Sébastien Hodges notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Panama's Marcos Cotilla. Marcos Cotilla was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Marcos Cotilla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Clark Lamontagne in the 17th minute. Panama's Marcos Cotilla proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Panama from getting a goal against them. FCUniversitatea Cluj 1919's Arden Ryder played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Berganza in the 20th minute of play. Andy Olson tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Arden Ryder. An unnecessary self made goal, 1-2 in the 22nd minute. 26 minutes into the game, FCUniversitatea Cluj 1919's Clark Lamontagne nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcos Cotilla made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. After 30 minutes, Carmen Langford mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FCUniversitatea Cluj 1919 and the Panama players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Panama booed when FCUniversitatea Cluj 1919 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carmen Langford didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Berganza in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arden Ryder saved FCUniversitatea Cluj 1919 from getting behind. In the 36th minute, Clark Lamontagne made a precise shot to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sébastien Hodges in the 41st minute of play. Tomas Berganza kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Erwin Bush sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Clark Lamontagne came free with the goalkeeper in the 48th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Marcos Cotilla could save by the left post.

In the 65th minute, 谢皓亮 left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. Abraham Alguacil was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 72nd minute. Panama's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 74th minute Tomas Berganza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arden Ryder saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Panama's Miguel Miralles got a free kick in the 75th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The FCUniversitatea Cluj 1919 fans cheered their team off the field, for while Panama had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
