But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kajar Püss in the 28th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Grimório's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wawrzyniec Niedziela came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Grimório's Wawrzyniec Niedziela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 35th minute of play. Kusti Jaas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniel Zorita scored 0-1 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Wawrzyniec Niedziela, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Wawrzyniec Niedziela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 42nd minute of the match. Wawrzyniec Niedziela didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 48th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kajar Püss made a kick off. After having played for 56 minutes, Tõnis Kaldvee managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grimório's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tõnis Kaldvee was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 59 minutes into the match, Grimório's goalkeeper Wawrzyniec Niedziela had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Konrad Värnik hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Wawrzyniec Niedziela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 64th minute of the match. Wawrzyniec Niedziela made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Wawrzyniec Niedziela tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Grimório's Wawrzyniec Niedziela proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Grimório from getting a goal against them. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Grimório made a substitution. When the match had gone on for 93 minutes, Kajar Püss put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera.
