Mariano Lacasa might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lucas Young. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mariano Lacasa ran back to his position shaking his head. Lucas Young showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 16th minute of the match. Lucas Young came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Chile's Mariano Lacasa. But to his dismay, Mariano Lacasa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. 18 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Martyn Featherstone came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martyn Featherstone in the 18th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Chile defense, Martyn Featherstone kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Thiago Pliego. The Chile fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Thiago Pliego should have stopped the shot. Lucas Young showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Orlando Casaus, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martyn Featherstone in the 34th minute of play. Thiago Pliego didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alfie Chivers went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. Mariano Lacasa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lucas Young having to make a save. Mariano Lacasa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Lucas Young made a huge save. Lucas Young made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 41st minute of play. The supporters of Chile booed when The Youth Project was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jimmy Bartrup didn't get a good kick on the ball. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Martyn Featherstone to make the kick off. If Mariano Lacasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mariano Lacasa in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lucas Young saved The Youth Project from getting behind. Lucas Young took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Orlando Casaus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Youth Project's Lucas Young played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 61st minute of play. Thiago Pliego made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Martyn Featherstone sent off a good shot on target.
