Spectators: 49 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) Venezuela's Tomas Illescas started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. After 3 played minutes, MIT's Petre Prislop shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in MIT reached it. Iulian Burtea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Nichifor Mara kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. MIT's defense didn't have a chance, in the 13th minute, when Tomas Illescas scored to the left of an out of position Iulian Burtea, making the score, 1-1. Iulian Burtea was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Tomas Illescas showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 15 minute of play. In the 21st minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iulian Burtea having to interfere. Iulian Burtea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 28th minute. After 34 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for MIT! Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusebiu Siniştean in the 45th minute of play. With a little luck, MIT's Iulian Burtea got control of the ball when Tomas Illescas tried to sneak it across the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The supporters of Venezuela booed when MIT was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mădălin Corocăescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 54th minute, Cornel Medeleanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iulian Burtea having to interfere. When Marcel Pătrășconiu fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MIT's protests and gave Marcel Pătrășconiu a yellow card for diving instead. Venezuela's Jose Correa managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Marcel Pătrășconiu in the 62 minute of the game. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, MIT's Cornel Medeleanu got a free kick in the 68th minute. After 70th play minutes Tomas Illescas shot 3-1, a short shot which went by Iulian Burtea and just under the crossbar into goal. 76 minutes into the match, Grigore Rizescu dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jonathan Ferrant, 3-2. MIT's Martin Topală was substituted for Mădălin Corocăescu. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eusebiu Siniştean in the 82nd minute of play. 85 minutes into the game, Tomas Illescas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-2. Iulian Burtea was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. A collision led to MIT getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Petre Prislop hit a great ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Venezuela fully deserved thier win.
