Francisco Seco started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 3rd minute, Kalle Berg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Stor Klack fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Worst Team Ever's protests and gave Stor Klack a yellow card for diving instead. In the 5th match minute, Worst Team Ever was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stor Klack to maneuver through the defense. Francisco Seco scored 0-1 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Evert Norberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Seco in the 9th minute of play forced Worst Team Ever's goalkeeper Evert Norberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Uruguay's attentive Alberto Gisbert managed to snatch the ball when József Murai made a throw-in in the 12th minute of the game. Evert Norberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. 14 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Isaias Eguerdi came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Evert Norberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Seco in the 18th minute of play. Bruno Beldad kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. Worst Team Ever's Evert Norberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 23rd minute of play. In the 26th minute Francisco Seco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evert Norberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 27 minutes, Bengt-Arne Sjöö mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Worst Team Ever and the Uruguay players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 27th minute, Bengt-Arne Sjöö hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Worst Team Ever booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Franco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joaquin Gayoso didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Worst Team Ever's Isaias Eguerdi shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-2 in the ordered_time% minute. If Maximiliano Escribano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isaias Eguerdi in the 44th minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Francisco Seco during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isaias Eguerdi, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Isaias Eguerdi to strike the kick off in the second half. Egil Brask's late challenge caught a Uruguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Egil Brask helped the player get up and apologised. In the 64th match minute, Worst Team Ever was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Egil Brask to maneuver through the defense. After 67 minutes, Kevin Carballal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Uruguay and the Worst Team Ever players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 68 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Kevin Carballal. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isaias Eguerdi, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Maximiliano Escribano got free with Evert Norberg in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 73 minutes into the game, Worst Team Ever's Isaias Eguerdi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joaquin Gayoso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Francisco Seco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Evert Norberg made a huge save. The supporters of Uruguay booed when Worst Team Ever was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. József Murai didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 79th minute, Kalle Berg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Evert Norberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jaime Cazalla in the 80th minute. Francisco Seco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isaias Eguerdi in the 84th minute of the match. During the 89th minute of the match Egil Brask completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Egil Brask a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 90th match minute, Worst Team Ever was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Egil Brask to maneuver through the defense. In the 93rd minute, Bengt-Arne Sjöö hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 96th minute Stor Klack shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maximiliano Escribano struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Evert Norberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uruguay. When the referee blew the final whistle, Worst Team Ever could leave the field as winners, despite Uruguay having more of the ball for most of the match.
