Sixten Nordström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 5th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Lillhärdal BF's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tord Kämpe in the 7th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Berkem Heybetli sent off a good shot on target. In the 20th minute, Agustín Saelices hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 24 minutes into the game, Felix Montes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ecuador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lillhärdal BF the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 23rd minute of the game. One of Ecuador:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Lillhärdal BF:s goal. Julio Vera went to the wrong direction when Qin Han Jing was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. 26 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sixten Nordström made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. A collision led to Lillhärdal BF getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Berkem Heybetli hit a great ball. Sixten Nordström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. When Primitivo Andino fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Primitivo Andino a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Primitivo Andino hit a great ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filippos Stathopoulos in the 45th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
In the 50th minute, Cristian Sancho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Camilo Gisbert hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. In the 53rd minute, Filippos Stathopoulos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Egil Sikström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lillhärdal BF's supporters rose to their feet, but Egil Sikström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 58th minute, Filippos Stathopoulos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tord Kämpe, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Lillhärdal BF's Sixten Nordström proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Lillhärdal BF from getting a goal against them. Daniel Zorita made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Lillhärdal BF's Sixten Nordström managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 86th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Arias to maneuver through the defense. When Qin Han Jing came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Lillhärdal BF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Qin Han Jing couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Filippos Stathopoulos in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Egil Sikström's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Egil Sikström helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Lillhärdal BF's Egil Sikström got a free kick in the 91st minute. Despite being the better team, Ecuador failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
