Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Armando Toninelli took the kick off in the first half of the match. If Armando Toninelli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emilio Spada showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 7th minute of the match. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armando Toninelli, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Ecuador's defense didn't have a chance, in the 11th minute, when Armando Toninelli scored to the left of an out of position Julio Vera, making the score, 1-0. In the 18th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Martesana Inter's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Ecuador's Luis Andino to fire away a dangerous shot which Emilio Spada despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After some careless play in the Martesana Inter defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Emilio Spada. The Martesana Inter fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Emilio Spada should have stopped the shot. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonio Pinti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Armando Toninelli took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. After having played for 29 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Antonio Pinti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. After 34 minutes, Donato Lobo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Martesana Inter and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 34th match minute, Martesana Inter was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Donato Lobo to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a free kick in the 39th minute. Emilio Spada made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 42nd minute of play. 45 minutes into the match, Martesana Inter's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Emilio Spada reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Martesana Inter's Biagio Mandara was substituted for Jorge Olmos. When Fabio Domina came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Martesana Inter fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabio Domina couldn't finish the play. In the 57th minute Fabio Domina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Armando Toninelli might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Armando Toninelli ran back to his position shaking his head. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Emilio Spada made a huge save. After 68 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Agustín Saelices. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Juan Sebastián Puig got a free kick in the 69th minute. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antonio Pinti in the 69th minute of play. Fabio Domina blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabio Domina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 75th minute Armando Toninelli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Fabio Domina stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Fabio Domina tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 77 minutes, Antonio Pinti mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Martesana Inter and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Martesana Inter getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Antonio Pinti hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Armando Toninelli's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. The supporters of Martesana Inter booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Montes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 86th minute, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. Cristiano Bomba took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 92nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Julio Vera. Ecuador's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
