An unexpected shot in the 6th minute by Lautaro Mancebo got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. With an all-out effort, Mexico's Pál Mester threw himself towards the right post 11 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joel Gaona, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabien Van Daelen, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zsombor Karsai in the 14th minute of play. Joel Gaona could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Pál Mester made a huge save. After 16 minutes of play, Mexico's Joel Gaona made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pál Mester was left in no man's land by his defense there! David Villa hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Pál Mester took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabien Van Daelen, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 25th minute Fabien Van Daelen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lautaro Mancebo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Pál Mester made a huge save. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Joel Gaona hit a great ball. Red Devils's Pál Mester proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Red Devils from getting a goal against them. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Károly Baranyai in the 37th minute of the match. Norbert Kónya hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Felix Luque hit a great ball. The supporters of Mexico booed when Red Devils was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roland Nagy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Roland Nagy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 48th minute Roland Nagy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. Dante Lacasa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fabien Van Daelen's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Luca Zorita hit a great ball. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Fabien Van Daelen sent off a good shot on target. After 60 played minutes Red Devils got a freekick which was hit by Elek Elek. In the 60th minute of the match Joel Gaona shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pál Mester showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 63rd minute, Lautaro Mancebo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lautaro Mancebo scored 2-0 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pál Mester, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Pál Mester took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Mancebo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Facundo Cadaval blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pál Mester having to make a save. In the 80th match minute, Red Devils was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zsombor Karsai to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 81st minute of play forced Red Devils's goalkeeper Pál Mester to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85th minute, Mesut Zidane hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Alberto Tafalla put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Pál Mester. After 89 played minutes Red Devils got a freekick which was hit by Zsombor Karsai. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Mexico fans cheered their team off the field, for while Red Devils had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
