Lionel Messias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Manzanares having to interfere. In the 9th minute Kevin Mastache shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johnni Kirkskov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, BK Skjold's Bernardo Queirós got a free kick in the 10th minute. In the 12th match minute, BK Skjold was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dumitru Tutorskiy to maneuver through the defense. Colombia's Pascual Carballar managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Bernardo Queirós in the 19 minute of the game. 20 minutes into the match, Colombia's Abram Sarmiento sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Johnni Kirkskov narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jose Eduino in the 23rd minute of the match. When Bernardo Queirós came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the BK Skjold fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bernardo Queirós couldn't finish the play. Pedro Manzanares was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Lionel Messias showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 26 minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Axel Montenegro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Johnni Kirkskov. BK Skjold's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Axel Montenegro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Montenegro in the 36th minute of play forced BK Skjold's goalkeeper Johnni Kirkskov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 36th minute Axel Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johnni Kirkskov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Johnni Kirkskov came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Colombia's Axel Montenegro. But to his dismay, Axel Montenegro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Antonio Indiano hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Genaro Procopio took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 41st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Pedro Manzanares. Colombia's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 44th minute of the match Genaro Procopio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pedro Manzanares skillfully saved the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jose Eduino in the 52nd minute of play.
