The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Federico Checa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eskild Sneftrup's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. Eskild Sneftrup sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a rather tough play, Depor Alex Return's Felipe Indalecio got a free kick in the 10th minute. Depor Alex Return's Federico Checa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eskild Sneftrup in the 12th minute of play. In the 18th minute Armando Baraquiel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eleazar Betzanos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Armando Baraquiel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Eleazar Betzanos made a huge save. In the 38thth minute of the game Eskild Sneftrup who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Depor Alex Return's Federico Checa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 40th minute Eskild Sneftrup shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Federico Checa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st minute MILLONARIOS FC were awarded a corner. Bernard Milko went to the cornerflag to take it. MILLONARIOS FC's Eskild Sneftrup got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Iván Cordoba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half MILLONARIOS FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Armando Baraquiel made the kick off in the second half. Eskild Sneftrup could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Federico Checa made a huge save. In the 61st minute of the match MILLONARIOS FC got a corner. Depor Alex Return's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Bernard Milko ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 63rd minute Eskild Sneftrup shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Federico Checa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eskild Sneftrup took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Federico Checa. Federico Checa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Depor Alex Return's Armando Baraquiel got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 73rd match minute, Depor Alex Return was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jony Maidana to maneuver through the defense. When MILLONARIOS FC's Eskild Sneftrup in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Depor Alex Return's goalie prevented a goal. In the 75th match minute, MILLONARIOS FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Xalvador Olmos to maneuver through the defense. Armando Baraquiel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eleazar Betzanos having to interfere. Federico Checa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eskild Sneftrup in the 80th minute of play. After some careless play in the Depor Alex Return defense, Eskild Sneftrup kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Federico Checa. The Depor Alex Return fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Federico Checa should have stopped the shot. Federico Checa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eskild Sneftrup in the 83rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Eskild Sneftrup managed to get in a good position for a shot. MILLONARIOS FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Eskild Sneftrup was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Federico Checa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 94 played minutes Depor Alex Return got a freekick which was hit by German Erruki. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched MILLONARIOS FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
