An unexpectedly hard shot by Alvaro Martxot in the 16th minute of play forced VERDOLAGA CITY FC's goalkeeper Vicente Davalos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 22 minutes into the game, when Baldomero Birjaio put in a rough tackle. Piratas FC:s Victorino Gaufred showed great skill when he stopped Sebastiano Torrienta:s penalty. In the 26th minute of the match VERDOLAGA CITY FC got a corner. Piratas FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sebastiano Torrienta ran over to the corner to take the kick. A very nice done corner allowed Sebastiano Torrienta to score against Victorino Gaufred in Piratas FC's goal. 0-1 after 26 minutes. After 30 minutes VERDOLAGA CITY FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was David Cordarius who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Piratas FC's corner David Cordarius fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Vicente Davalos quite easily take care of the ball. Florentino Sendoa hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Vicente Davalos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Aimar, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. A collision led to Piratas FC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Damian Precioso hit a great ball. Vicente Davalos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Amadeo Francesco in the 36th minute. Victorino Gaufred showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Belasko Folguera, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Victor Hugo Aristizábal took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Victorino Gaufred. Victorino Gaufred dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. The audience was convinced that Victor Hugo Aristizábal's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Victorino Gaufred was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. Vicente Davalos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Aimar in the 47th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Victor Hugo Aristizábal was the one to do the kick off. Vicente Davalos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Aimar in the 73rd minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, VERDOLAGA CITY FC's goal looked a bit too open when David Aimar came free, but Vicente Davalos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vicente Davalos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Aimar in the 88th minute of play. If David Aimar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Vicente Davalos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amadeo Francesco in the 92nd minute of play. In the 93rd minute, David Aimar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vicente Davalos was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-4. The VERDOLAGA CITY FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing VERDOLAGA CITY FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
