When GeRaÇãO-83's Magno Miranda in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 39th minute Osvaldo Shantala shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grzegorz Siekierski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Paulinho Ralf fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GeRaÇãO-83's protests and gave Paulinho Ralf a yellow card for diving instead. GeRaÇãO-83:s Grzegorz Siekierski showed great skill when he stopped Osvaldo Shantala:s penalty. Osvaldo Shantala scored 1-0 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Grzegorz Siekierski, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Emerson Leão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edin Džeko, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute.
