Sydney Quirino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Toby Herget having to interfere. Emerson Leão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simon Justice in the 27th minute of play. Toby Herget made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teofil Zjawin in the 28th minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, Sydney Quirino notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Inmortales FC's Toby Herget. Toby Herget was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 41st minute Orville Jacobson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emerson Leão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sydney Quirino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.
