Humberto Llorente made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Laerte Favoretto sent off a good shot on target. Humberto Llorente was out of position in the 15 minute of play, and Laerte Favoretto capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Laerte Favoretto really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. In the 23rd minute, Anxo Gómez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ponte Riba Dil C.F. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Gau Olle scored 2-2 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Remigio Valerón, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Remigio Valerón made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anxo Gómez in the 28th minute of play. The supporters of ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO booed when Ponte Riba Dil C.F. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Moisés Palomares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Filomeno Camaño was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 30th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Humberto Llorente made an important save on a dangerous shot by Laerte Favoretto in the 32nd minute. In the 34th minute, one of Ponte Riba Dil C.F.:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ponte Riba Dil C.F.. When the match had been going on for 37 minutes, ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's Jakes Vila got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Humberto Llorente. After 39 played minutes ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO got a freekick which was hit by Guillermo Rapado. In the 40th minute Gau Olle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remigio Valerón saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Laerte Favoretto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th minute, Poncio Gómez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ponte Riba Dil C.F. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-3. The first half was very even, with the score at 3-3 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Gau Olle made the kick off in the second half. Through an outstanding action, after 51 minutes, Remigio Valerón successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Ponte Riba Dil C.F.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Zilar Valdecañas in the 52nd minute. After taking down the ball on Ponte Riba Dil C.F.'s corner Zilar Valdecañas fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Remigio Valerón quite easily take care of the ball. After a rather tough play, ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's Saverio Castelao got a free kick in the 58th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gau Olle in the 59th minute of play forced ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's goalkeeper Remigio Valerón to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Ponte Riba Dil C.F. getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Anxo Gómez hit a great ball. After 85 minutes Ponte Riba Dil C.F.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Filomeno Camaño who took care of the corner kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julio Alacuart in the 87th minute of play forced Ponte Riba Dil C.F.'s goalkeeper Humberto Llorente to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 88 minutes of play, ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's Laerte Favoretto made it 4-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Humberto Llorente was left in no man's land by his defense there! Julio Alacuart took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Humberto Llorente. Humberto Llorente dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-3.
