Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zhao Sen Yang in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leontin Omescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 32ndth minute of the game Zhao Sen Yang who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but PARTIZAN Baia Mare -MM-'s Leontin Omescu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zhao Sen Yang in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leontin Omescu saved PARTIZAN Baia Mare -MM- from getting behind. Jeremy Wenderickxs short, quick shot in the 35thth minute got Ivan Chiuzbaian to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 40th minute Ion Inculeț shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Chiuzbaian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The PARTIZAN Baia Mare -MM- players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- were winning 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zhao Sen Yang to make the kick off.
