Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Axel Tasis started the match with the kick off. Lautaro Puig hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. Juan Rubio's late challenge caught a FC Fano's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Juan Rubio helped the player get up and apologised. In the 4th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Rubio to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 6 minutes, Evren Cambaz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Fano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Evren Cambaz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lautaro Puig kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. After 15 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Axel Tasis. Dietrich Winkler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Tasis in the 18th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilhelm Lampadius in the 19th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to FC Fano getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Bjorn Bartz hit a great ball. Eliseo Noboa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dietrich Winkler having to interfere. If Wilhelm Lampadius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Tasis in the 28th minute of play forced FC Fano's goalkeeper Dietrich Winkler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Costa Rica's Juan Rubio got his second yellow card of the match in the 30th minute. The referee ordered Juan Rubio off the ground. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Juan Rubio hit a great ball. In the 38th minute of the match FC Fano got a corner. Costa Rica's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Karl Beauchêne ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Karl Beauchêne got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Benito Sanz quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Dietrich Winkler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Noboa in the 40th minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, FC Fano's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Puig came free, but Dietrich Winkler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Evren Cambaz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. 45 minutes into the game, Axel Tasis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Fano the free kick. Evren Cambaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Evren Cambaz was the one to do the kick off. Evren Cambaz scored 1-0 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evren Cambaz in the 61st minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 65th match minute, FC Fano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Georg Pichler to maneuver through the defense. Lautaro Puig could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Dietrich Winkler made a huge save. In the 69th minute, Wilhelm Lampadius got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evren Cambaz in the 77th minute of the match. Eliseo Noboa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Dietrich Winkler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, FC Fano's Jerry Brötzmann got a free kick in the 80th minute. In the 81st minute of the game Bjorn Bartz made a throw-in which Karl Beauchêne played forward. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilhelm Lampadius in the 83rd minute of play. When the match clock showed 83 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Wilhelm Lampadius sped through Costa Rica's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. 86 minutes into the match, FC Fano's Wally Auffarth sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benito Sanz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Evren Cambaz went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. 96 minutes into the game, Eliseo Noboa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Dietrich Winkler was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. FC Fano walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
