The audience thought a goal was coming when Luz Tejedor got free with Edmund Dulemba in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Zé Dos Reis struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Rolando Noboa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Türk Polis Gücü. 13 minutes into the match, Milagros Fraga notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Türk Polis Gücü's Edmund Dulemba. Edmund Dulemba was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 16th minute, Zé Dos Reis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Edmund Dulemba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 20th minute of the match. After 21 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Emmanuel Reyes. Zé Dos Reis took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rolando Noboa. Rolando Noboa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Dos Reis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luz Tejedor could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Edmund Dulemba made a huge save. Edmund Dulemba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Julian Murillo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Edmund Dulemba firmly grabbed it by the left post. With a little luck, Türk Polis Gücü's Edmund Dulemba got control of the ball when Julian Murillo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Emmanuel Reyes hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Dos Reis in the 44th minute of play. In the 46th minute, Joaquin Prats ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edmund Dulemba was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zé Dos Reis to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Zé Dos Reis recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rolando Noboa. Zé Dos Reis showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. 61 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edmund Dulemba narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 62nd minute Peru were awarded a corner. Luz Tejedor went to the cornerflag to take it. When Erhan Sarıoğlu came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Türk Polis Gücü fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erhan Sarıoğlu couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Dos Reis in the 72nd minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
