After a defensive mix-up in Los Muñes de Don Cuco's zone, Julian Murillo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baron Buffon came out of the goal and Julian Murillo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. If Rien Oss had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 93 minutes, Rafael Gallo put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Baron Buffon. There was no doubt that Peru were the better team. Peru's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
