An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilhelm Lampadius in the 25th minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee ignored FC Fano's protests and gave Wally Auffarth a yellow card for diving instead. Though ot was a great shot Honduras's keeper Lautaro Navarro was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. When the referee ended the match the Honduras players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
