After a rather tough play, USA's Fabian Brown got a free kick in the 14th minute. In the 15th minute Joel Hibai shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Monty Rogers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Cristoforo Tammaro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristoforo Tammaro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Lunatics of Arianrhod made a substitution. Francesco Romino replaced Walter Giusti. After the first half USA were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cassius Byrne was the one to do the kick off. If Cassius Byrne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 50th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 56 minutes had been played when some careless play by Lunatics of Arianrhod's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Cassius Byrne was slow to take the kick. During this time USA's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Cassius Byrne got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Cristoforo Tammaro quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 60 minutes into the game, Cassius Byrne lined in a short shot 1-3 behind a frustrated Cristoforo Tammaro. Francesco Romino's late challenge caught a USA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Francesco Romino helped the player get up and apologised. Fedele Panza struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Marco Day didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lunatics of Arianrhod. USA made a substitution. Sam Campbell replaced Cassius Byrne. In the 73rd minute of the match, Sam Campbell tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Cristoforo Tammaro saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Fedele Panza's late challenge caught a USA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
