Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edmundo Espiga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Moises Tafalla recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sebastian Villa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 55th minute of the match, Edmundo Espiga tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Erwin Teesing saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 57 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Hugo Bender came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, ASC South United's Erwin Teesing got control of the ball when Edmundo Espiga tried to sneak it across the goal line. Honduras's Christian Sancho managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Frits de Boer in the 65 minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in ASC South United's zone, Edmundo Espiga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erwin Teesing came out of the goal and Edmundo Espiga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Hugo Bender managed to get in a good position for a shot. ASC South United's supporters rose to their feet, but Hugo Bender was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lautaro Navarro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rolf van der Saar kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edmundo Espiga got free with Erwin Teesing in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 86 minutes, Hugo Bender mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ASC South United and the Honduras players grew even worse after the yellow card.
