The AIK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 50 minutes play. Tomas Illescas hit a great ball. In the 62nd minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Lucas Almkvist kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. 69 minutes into the match, AIK's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Arvid Uggla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Guillermo Mariano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonard Kjellqvist in the 87th minute of play. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. AIK fully deserved thier win.
