In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Deportes Vαldiviα's goalkeeper Ysidro Colimán, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Vinos Guemes came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Deportes Vαldiviα fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vinos Guemes couldn't finish the play. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ysidro Colimán having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rolando Ortega in the 23rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vinos Guemes in the 30th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rolando Ortega could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eufrasio Najera's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. Vinos Guemes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Patricio Costa might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ysidro Colimán. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Patricio Costa ran back to his position shaking his head. After 42 played minutes Deportes Vαldiviα got a freekick which was hit by Laurín Dundan. Tomas Illescas took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 43rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ysidro Colimán. Deportes Vαldiviα's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After having played for 44 minutes, Eufrasio Najera managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deportes Vαldiviα's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eufrasio Najera was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Deportes Vαldiviα's Silvestre Romo. But to his dismay, Silvestre Romo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
Ysidro Colimán was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Tomas Illescas showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 51 minute of play. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eufrasio Najera in the 54th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a free kick in the 58th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Deportes Vαldiviα's Eufrasio Najera shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 3-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Eufrasio Najera's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. After 88 played minutes Deportes Vαldiviα got a freekick which was hit by Laurín Dundan. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rolando Ortega in the 91st minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Deportes Vαldiviα had played much better football throughout.
