Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramzi Drouart, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Illan in the 25th minute of play. Wasyl Rydzewski hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. In the 31st minute, Paulo Illan ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcos Cotilla was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. After some careless play in the Panama defense, Uci Nurpijal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcos Cotilla. The Panama fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcos Cotilla should have stopped the shot. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joosep Eessaar in the 39th minute of play. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joosep Eessaar in the 42nd minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The audience was convinced that Ramzi Drouart's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcos Cotilla was relentless in the 51st minute of the game. After a rather tough play, FC Raasiku Kõrid's Paulo Illan got a free kick in the 57th minute.
