After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 7th minute. The audience was convinced that Örjan Vall's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Arman Ström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to I uomo del popolo getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Alf Lund hit a great ball. 17 minutes into the game, I uomo del popolo's Örjan Vall nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Arman Ström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Reine Örtlund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Arman Ström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 33rd minute Patricio Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arman Ström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Örjan Vall in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Örjan Vall recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in I uomo del popolo's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arman Ström came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alf Lund kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Arman Ström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Örjan Vall in the 46th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. 47 minutes into the game, Jonathan Venegas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave I uomo del popolo the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 47th minute of the game. One of Venezuela:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of I uomo del popolo:s goal. The referee gave I uomo del popolo a penalty, 48 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Reine Örtlund, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. 2-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Illescas to strike the kick off in the second half. Örjan Vall received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reine Örtlund, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 65th minute, Tomas Illescas reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Arman Ström. The goal made the score 2-1. In the 69th minute, Jonathan Venegas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Arman Ström was out of position in the 70 minute of play, and Tomas Illescas capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tomas Illescas really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. 80 minutes into the match, Reine Örtlund had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Reine Örtlund was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Jimmy Sandberg hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Salvador Gisbert's late challenge caught a I uomo del popolo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Salvador Gisbert helped the player get up and apologised. In the 84th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Salvador Gisbert to maneuver through the defense. After 92 minutes of play Venezuela's Jose Correa was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 93 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patricio Costa in the 97th minute of play forced I uomo del popolo's goalkeeper Arman Ström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, I uomo del popolo's Håkan Skott got a free kick in the 98th minute.
