ANAHA FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tanek Walczyk in the 9th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A nice corner shot did that Éluard Plantade got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Hassan Theron hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Firmin Négrel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Agustín Saelices hit a great ball. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Firmin Négrel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, ANAHA FC's Julio Vera threw himself towards the right post 30 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tanek Walczyk, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Firmin Négrel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 32nd minute of the match. Firmin Négrel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristian Sancho's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Francisco Ibañez to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Tanek Walczyk made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tanek Walczyk, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. The supporters of ANAHA FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Zorita didn't get a good kick on the ball. Agustín Saelices kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. ANAHA FC made a substitution. Dudu Georgescu replaced Francisco Ibañez. In the 73rd minute, Tanek Walczyk left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ANAHA FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ludovic Guillois's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. If Dudu Georgescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 86th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dudu Georgescu in the 90th minute of play. Tanek Walczyk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 98 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Éluard Plantade was slow to take the kick. During this time ANAHA FC's players had a chance to rest. The corner led ANAHA FC's Éluard Plantade to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
