Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rutger Danielsson having to interfere. FC LauB's Oriche Rotges got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 13th minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Rutger Danielsson. FC LauB's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Rutger Danielsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. Rutger Danielsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in FC LauB's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rutger Danielsson came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julio Vera had great luck who in the 28thth minute grab hold of the ball when Mario Mendez from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Rutger Danielsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 33rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 35th minute of play forced FC LauB's goalkeeper Rutger Danielsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37th minute, Luis Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pascual Markel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Mario Mendez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. When the match clock showed 43 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Mario Mendez sped through Ecuador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julio Vera. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Rutger Danielsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 57th minute of the match. After 58 minutes FC LauB's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. He walked away shaking his head. With an all-out effort, Ecuador's Rutger Danielsson threw himself towards the right post 65 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luis Andino, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After having played for 67 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ecuador played a much better game than FC LauB and deserved their victory. The FC LauB players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
