An unexpectedly hard shot by 程烨瑜 in the 6th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 2-0 became the score in the 10th minute when Gaudencio Ubarna elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 13 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when 程烨瑜 came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16th minute Gaudencio Ubarna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaudencio Ubarna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 22 minutes into the match, FC Oltul Slatina's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Manuel Lovinescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Venezuela booed when FC Oltul Slatina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Denis Cângea didn't get a good kick on the ball. FC Oltul Slatina were awarded a corner in the 30th minute after Venezuela's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Neil Cassar Overend took the corner. FC Oltul Slatina's Neil Cassar Overend was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jonathan Ferrant in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Gelu Coman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. FC Oltul Slatina's Manuel Lovinescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 36th minute of play. After 37 minutes FC Oltul Slatina's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tomas Illescas who took care of the corner kick. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Patricio Costa put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Manuel Lovinescu. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Iurie Avacariței kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. FC Oltul Slatina's Neil Cassar Overend got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Iurie Avacariței tried to sneak it across the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Lovinescu having to interfere. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Manuel Lovinescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 56th match minute, FC Oltul Slatina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denis Cângea to maneuver through the defense. In the 59th minute, Camilo Gaos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 60 minutes into the game, FC Oltul Slatina's Gaudencio Ubarna nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. After 65 played minutes FC Oltul Slatina got a freekick which was hit by Gaudencio Ubarna. Manuel Lovinescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patricio Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Venezuela's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tomas Illescas in the 70th minute. The corner led Venezuela's Tomas Illescas to fire away a dangerous shot which Manuel Lovinescu despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iurie Avacariței, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. After taking down the ball on FC Oltul Slatina's corner Neil Cassar Overend fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jonathan Ferrant quite easily take care of the ball. Manuel Lovinescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Costa in the 80th minute of the match. FC Oltul Slatina's Manole Vâlcu was substituted for Doru Oprescu. In the 84th minute Iurie Avacariței shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 87 minutes into the match, Iurie Avacariței had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Iurie Avacariței was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-2. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gaudencio Ubarna in the 91st minute of the match.
