After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mihăiţă Frânculescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Balaceanu UFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emil Ardelean didn't get a good kick on the ball. 18 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Luis Andino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felix Montenegro couldn't finish the play. When Octav Bologan fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Balaceanu UFC's protests and gave Octav Bologan a yellow card for diving instead. Cristian Sancho was extremely unlucky when he, in the 71st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 72nd minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mihăiţă Frânculescu was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-7. In the 78th minute, Luis Andino reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Mihăiţă Frânculescu. The goal made the score 0-8. Mihăiţă Frânculescu was a little too slow when Daniel Zorita got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 88th minute. The score was now 0-10. In the 92nd minute, Cristian Sancho reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Mihăiţă Frânculescu. The goal made the score 0-11. Cristian Sancho succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-12 in the 95th playminute.
