Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Jarl Hafsteinsson sent off a good shot on target. Austmar Janusson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Illescas's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Jarl Hafsteinsson put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patricio Costa in the 36th minute of play forced V.V.V - Venlo's goalkeeper Austmar Janusson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 40 minutes into the match, V.V.V - Venlo's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Costa came free, but Austmar Janusson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Patricio Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. The supporters of Venezuela booed when V.V.V - Venlo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jarl Hafsteinsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jarl Hafsteinsson in the 56th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jarl Hafsteinsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Jarl Hafsteinsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
