Rakieta Solanka's attentive Wladyslaw Tipinski managed to snatch the ball when Hugo Ferrant made a throw-in in the 5th minute of the game. Damian Gierasik could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Abel Carballo during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Abel Carballo got a free kick in the 10th minute. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Rakieta Solanka was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julio Frasquito didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Waldemar Wodaszak in the 28th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 28 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Waldemar Wodaszak came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 28 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Eliseo Noboa. In the 31st minute, Eliseo Noboa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benito Sanz was out of position in the 34 minute of play, and Waldemar Wodaszak capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Waldemar Wodaszak really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Waldemar Wodaszak stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Rakieta Solanka's zone, Lautaro Puig stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stasio Czech came out of the goal and Lautaro Puig tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 59th minute, Damian Gierasik got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Waldemar Wodaszak blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benito Sanz having to make a save. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 63 played minutes Rakieta Solanka got a freekick which was hit by Julio Frasquito. Eliseo Noboa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 67th minute, Damian Gierasik made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Stasio Czech made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aaron Alcocer in the 70th minute. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Waldemar Wodaszak kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Damian Gierasik stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Damian Gierasik tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Damian Gierasik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Izydor Kensicki, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Rakieta Solanka's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
