Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Fabian Czeszejko started the match with the kick off. Tolek Kiszkiel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Olimpia HSB's Tolek Kiszkiel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 15th minute of play. Fabian Czeszejko could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Camilo Gisbert made in the 20th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Luis Andino however managed to control. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Olimpia HSB's goalkeeper Tolek Kiszkiel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fabian Czeszejko's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. Fabian Czeszejko received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Julio Vera came out and tried to block the shot, but Fabian Czeszejko slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 26th minute. In the 29th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tolek Kiszkiel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 31 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Fabian Czeszejko came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fabian Czeszejko took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. Felix Montenegro hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernando Morientes in the 53rd minute of play. In the 53rd minute, Fernando Morientes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabian Czeszejko in the 55th minute of play. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabian Czeszejko in the 57th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fabian Czeszejko in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Fabian Czeszejko kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Olimpia HSB made a substitution. Zbyszko Skorny replaced Artur Walczak. After taking down the ball on Olimpia HSB's corner Calito Izquierdoz fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Tolek Kiszkiel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Fernando Morientes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. 84 minutes into the match, Jacek Pietrowiak notched a goal, 7-1, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 91 minutes into the game, Jacek Pietrowiak cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-1. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
