If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lorenzo Cazalla hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Joel Gaona hit a great ball. In the 48th minute Leon Horsky shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lautaro Mancebo in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Roland Hock saved Los Spurs from getting behind. In the 83rd match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luca Rouco to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Los Spurs's Eike Salmutter got a free kick in the 87th minute. Lautaro Mancebo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Roland Hock having to make a save. After 91 played minutes Los Spurs got a freekick which was hit by Benjamin Grünberger. In the 91st minute of the match Joel Gaona sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Roland Hock skillfully saved the ball. In the 93rd match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Facundo Cadaval to maneuver through the defense. Mexico's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
