An unexpectedly hard shot by Abraham Alguacil in the 27th minute of play forced V.V.V - Venlo's goalkeeper Austmar Janusson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jarl Hafsteinsson scored 1-0 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcos Cotilla, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jarl Hafsteinsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcos Cotilla having to interfere.
