Rafnar Sveinsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lautaro Navarro having to interfere. Halldór Jökulsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lautaro Navarro having to interfere. Austmar Janusson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 18th minute of the match. The supporters of Honduras booed when V.V.V - Venlo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rafnar Sveinsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Austmar Janusson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 21st minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edmundo Espiga in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Austmar Janusson saved V.V.V - Venlo from getting behind. The supporters of Honduras booed when V.V.V - Venlo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Starri Kjaransson didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ástþór Hilmarsson during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 27th match minute, V.V.V - Venlo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ástþór Hilmarsson to maneuver through the defense. Jarl Hafsteinsson in the 29thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Lautaro Navarro, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 40 minutes into the match, Justin Kluivert had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Justin Kluivert was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. In the 45th minute of the match V.V.V - Venlo got a corner. Honduras's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rafnar Sveinsson ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Rafnar Sveinsson got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Lautaro Navarro quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Austmar Janusson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmundo Espiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Justin Kluivert stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sebastian Villa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Austmar Janusson having to interfere. After 58 played minutes V.V.V - Venlo got a freekick which was hit by Róbert Þorkelsson. Edmundo Espiga succeeded in the game's 58th minute to get real power on a long shot . V.V.V - Venlo's Austmar Janusson hadn't the time to block the shot which was pasted into the goal, 2-2! Sebastian Villa hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edmundo Espiga in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Austmar Janusson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sebastian Villa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Austmar Janusson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Justin Kluivert struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Lautaro Navarro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for V.V.V - Venlo. 74 minutes into the match, Jarl Hafsteinsson notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Honduras's Lautaro Navarro. Lautaro Navarro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When V.V.V - Venlo's Jarl Hafsteinsson in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Honduras's goalie prevented a goal. In the 80th minute, Rafnar Sveinsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 85 minutes into the match, V.V.V - Venlo's goalkeeper Austmar Janusson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edmundo Espiga. Edmundo Espiga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Honduras's Moises Tafalla managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Friðþór Bjarmason in the 91 minute of the game. When Edmundo Espiga came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Honduras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmundo Espiga couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Honduras's Valentín Carvallo got a free kick in the 94th minute. The V.V.V - Venlo players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
