The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Sporting Chilcano's zone, Alberto Tafalla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lizardi Montanez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A well-hit corner resulted in Macos Graciani heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Lautaro Mancebo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lizardi Montanez having to interfere. In the 15th minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lizardi Montanez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lizardi Montanez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lautaro Mancebo went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 18 minutes of play, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lizardi Montanez was left in no man's land by his defense there! Lizardi Montanez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luca Zorita in the 25th minute of the match. Lizardi Montanez was a little too slow when Alberto Tafalla got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 94th minute. The score was now 0-3. When the match was over Mexico could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Sporting Chilcano throughout the match.
