In the 26th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Sancho to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when 高益霆 got free with Julio Vera in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 吕洋鹏 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 31st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 38th minute of play forced 天下常熟's goalkeeper 吕洋鹏 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 44 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was 洪政阳 who took care of the corner kick.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Primitivo Andino kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. 吕洋鹏 made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 81st minute. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but 吕洋鹏 made a huge save. 洪政阳's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. 洪政阳 helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Ecuador booed when 天下常熟 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. 洪政阳 didn't get a good kick on the ball.
