After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Wes Carragher stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Wes Carragher tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 9 minutes into the match, Gloucester City AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Danny Jumel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, Gloucester City AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Danny Jumel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wes Carragher, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Danny Jumel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 35th minute, Julian Meechan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Danny Jumel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. After 39 played minutes Gloucester City AFC got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Mino. Daniel Zorita took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 40th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Danny Jumel. Gloucester City AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Kristopher Le Saux came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Gloucester City AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kristopher Le Saux couldn't finish the play. After 42 played minutes Gloucester City AFC got a freekick which was hit by Lennie Sutherland. Danny Jumel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 43rd minute of the match. After 44 minutes Gloucester City AFC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. In the 47th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gisbert to maneuver through the defense. 48 minutes into the match, Gloucester City AFC's Wes Carragher sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kristopher Le Saux made a kick off. Wes Carragher recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wes Carragher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kristopher Le Saux in the 63rd minute of play. In the 70th minute Kristopher Le Saux shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sven-Åke Petersson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gloucester City AFC's Jarred Castaneda was substituted for Wes Carragher. Danny Jumel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Cristian Sancho hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Sven-Åke Petersson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. 80 minutes into the game, Gloucester City AFC's Kristopher Le Saux nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. 84 minutes into the game, Juan Sebastián Puig was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ecuador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gloucester City AFC the free kick. Ecuador:s Julio Vera showed great skill when he stopped Sven-Åke Petersson:s penalty. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 90 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 91st match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gisbert to maneuver through the defense. Gloucester City AFC's Sven-Åke Petersson got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jarred Castaneda in the 98th minute of play. Gloucester City AFC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Ecuador for a fine match.
